MONSOON BLUES IN MUMBAI

Rains are special. Of course they are. They help the farmers to cultivate the crops. It is the deciding factor on how the agricultural produce will be throughout the year. But Monsoons in Mumbai take a different turn altogether. The creation of numerous potholes, flooding of roads, spreading of communicable diseases etc. Infrastructure issues is another facet embedded in this season. Every year Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation issues statements regarding various tanks etc being placed which will provide relief to all Mumbaikars. But you don’t have to guess the results on such promises . What’s shocking is the organisation’s apathy and laziness to solve the problem. A financial hub of a country should have all the basic requirements covered. People do not have the will to resolve the problems and want to compare themselves to New York, London etc. How Ironic!
